The Royal Australian Navy has honored the life of the man in change of HMAS MELBOURNE (Ⅱ) when the U.S. Navy Destroyer USS Frank E EVANS turned under the Australian aircraft carrier's bow and was cut in half. Captain John Philip Stevenson died on January 30, aged 98, after a career marked with distinguished service in war and peace, as well as tragedy and controversy.
